The emergence of the first metal objects dates to around the 4th millennium BCE. These were adornments produced by cold-hammering nuggets of native copper.
By questioning the origins of adornment, we rediscovered the pendeloque, the oldest shaped form of ornament.
It spans continents and stands as a universal artifact of jewelry.
Its mystery lies in its use:
Symbol of power ? Sacred amulet ? Ornamental object ?
By bringing together the form of the pendeloque and a reference to the earliest metalworkers, we designed copper jewelry with oblong forms.
